Earlier in this decade, the soul singer is known for making headlines for insane statements and releases, one of which was his diss song “I Hit It First.”
The song was directed towards Kanye West and Kim Kardashian however, in a recent clip shares from his appearance on Drink Champs, Ray J details the release was a moment of being “mentally petty.”
“I think at that time, I was just mentally petty. Mentally petty and just having too much fun,” Ray J said. “Really not thinking about the other side and how it might make people feel. Not just the other side of who I was talking about but just really, the fans and people, who, like depend on you to do right.”
