Shots fired at the Hardee’s on Anvil Block around 6:30 a.m.

According to the manager of Hardee’s Keysa Roberts, it was an armed robbery gone wrong, but this time not for the victims.

Hardee’s local bread man Joseph Chilton walked into the restaurant just in time to attack the suspect known as Damario Parrish.

Allegedly Parrish had been to Hardee’s establishment before, trying to hurt employees. Hardee’s employee Mary Ann stated, “This young man [had] been here twice. The first, he hurt my employees. The second time, he jumped over and put the gun physically to me. I just did what he asked me to do.”

When Parrish attempted to leave the scene of the crime, bread guy Chilton, retrieved his firearm from his truck and began to fire at the suspect. Victims of the crime say that Mr. Chilton shot at Parrish four times. However, the suspect was still able to escape off in the woods.

Leaving in such a rush, Parrish left his car in the parking lot. Clayton County Police was able to track down the suspect and arrested him at home in Conley, GA. SWAT was called to the scene; however, Parrish openly surrendered.

Parrish was rushed to the hospital and will remain there until he has recovered from his shot wounds. Clayton County plans to transfer him to the Clayton County jail once Parrish is discharged from the hospital.

As for the hero Mr. Chilton, Clayton County Sheriff was “so impressed with Chilton” for voluntarily defending employees from the attacker. Sheriff Hill has made Mr. Chilton an honorary deputy and inducted him into the Sheriff’s Posse Hall of Fame.
