ALEXIS CRAWFORD’S KILLER WAS DENIED BOND
ATLANTA – One of the two suspects accused of murdering Clark Atlanta University student Alexis Crawford was in court Thursday for a bond hearing.
Jordyn Jones, who was Crawford’s roommate, and her boyfriend, Barron Brantley, are accused of strangling the 21-year-old in October.
The judge denied bond for Jones, saying she was a flight chance since hours after the homicide, she was blamed for making arrangements to pull back from school and move to Michigan.
Jones’ resistance lawyer contended to the judge his customer merited a sensible bond.
“The most basic reason for our criminal equity framework is that an individual should not be rebuffed for a criminal offense until the state has shown coerce past a sensible uncertainty,” said lawyer Cliff Harbick.
Harbick said the main criminal history Jones has is wrongdoing out of Michigan that she’s right now on post-trial supervision for. He additionally said she’s not a flight hazard and she wouldn’t scare observers, who are for the most part Crawford’s family members.
However, the delegate head prosecutor differs and said she has just connected with Crawford’s family. He included the entirety of Jones’ family is in Michigan, she’s never again a Clark Atlanta understudy and he said she took an interest in the homicide of Crawford and disguised her body.
