IN HONOR OF BARACK OBAMA
A petition to rename the stretch of Fifth Ave. in front of Trump Tower to Barack H. Obama Ave. has gathered more than 140,000 signatures.
The petition launched on MoveOn.org by Elizabeth Rowin after she saw a tweet that proposed the idea. The idea sought to change Trump Tower’s address to 725 President Barack H. Obama Ave.
While the petition has gone viral and has found substantial support it has been suspected that it likely won’t go anywhere, considering city council guidelines state that a prospective honoree must be deceased for at least two years before they’ll even be considered to have a street named after them.
