Megan Thee Stallion VS. The Industry
During Megan Thee Stallion’s interview with Fader magazine, she talks about overcoming gender biases within the hip hop industry. In the industry woman typically endure certain obstacles that males won’t have to. While Megan has beaten the odds and acknowledges that her talent is far different compared to her male counterparts, who stick to the current trend of “mumble rap”. “Mumble rap” is a style that she considers tiring and a trend that female rappers can’t really get into. She then says “To see that it changed from something that I love so much to what’s going on right now really blew my mind” basically implying that she is disappointed in the new rap wave because as a rapper she takes pride in delivering her hard-hitting lyrics through her music.
