Skittles and Arizona Iced Tea For Life!
Trayvon Martin would have turned 24 today, February 5,2019. Martin was an unarmed African-American 17-year-old male who was killed by neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman on February 26, 2012, in Florida. His death provoked national debates. He had no criminal record when he was shot and killed by Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida.
George Zimmerman saw Martin, who had left his father’s house to purchase Skittles and an Arizona iced tea. Zimmerman called the police department at 7:11 PM to report a “suspicious guy”, which was Trayvon, walking in-between homes and then starting to run. The dispatcher told Zimmerman to not get out of his car and follow him in his vehicle, but Zimmerman did not follow instructions.
The conflict ended with Zimmerman shooting Martin. Martin died less than a hundred yards from the door of the townhouse he was staying.
