New music from R. Kelly on the way
As a condition to the agreement to split from Sony Records, R. Kelly claimed ownership of his new music even though it was recorded under contract sources say. The two split soon after the “Surviving R.Kelly” docuseries aired on Lifetime discussing sexual misconduct allegations. How Kelly will release this new music is still a mystery; however, he has many different options. He can distribute through an indie distributor, uploading it directly to Spotify or signing a new record deal. A lawyer declined to make comments of Kelly’s music plans at the moment. This may mean the music won’t be released sooner rather than later; however, it will be released.
