A video went viral of an ADHD 7-year-old Cameron McCadden in handcuffs at school, which was recorded by his mother Chrystal McCadden. The school officer handcuffed McCadden for an hour because he kicked a cart and was running around the bleachers.
Though the incident happened October 2015, Chrystal McCadden is filing a lawsuit on the Flint Police department. Now, the American Civil Liberties Union are assisting Chrystal with the case. Mark Fancher, the attorney with ACLU Michigan is suing the police department for violating state and federal law. ACLU and the mother demands for the removal of police officers in all elementary schools.
The incident caused Cameron to fear police officers and attend therapy now.
Cameron’s mom says, “I really do not want this to happen to any other child in Flint, let alone the world.”. She continues by saying,“This is not fair.”
