Last night at the MTV Movie & TV Awards Tiffany Haddish made history again as the first black female host. Her opening monologue was a powerful tribute to a year of black achievements. “It’s been a year of firsts for black people. I’m the first black woman to host the MTV Movie and TV Awards, ‘Black Panther’ is the first African American movie to make $1 billion, and ‘A Quiet Place’ is the first film to scare black people out of talking in movie theatres,” she announced.
Haddish definitely kept the crowd entertained with her wardrobe paying tribute to Cardi B, J Lo, and Meghan Markle and the list goes on. She changed a total of 9 times. To top things off Tiffany won the Best Comedic Performance for hit movie ‘Girls Trip’.
Haddish roasted the Kardashians saying, “That family is basically the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. They make a ton of money, a new one is always popping up, and they’re ruled by a bossy overlord who sleeps in a mask and loves black men.”
