Outstanding ticket no longer an issue.

If you have an outstanding ticket in the city of Atlanta, a little bit of grace is coming your way. Starting Friday, city officials will waive any penalties or late fees. This amnesty is only for tickets issued before March 2017.If you forgot to add more time to the parking meter and found a ticket on your windshield, starting Friday, you will only have 15 days to pay it off.

If you still do not pay the ticket or tickets after the 15 days, you might find a boot on your car.The city’s new amnesty program is called “Don’t get the Boot.” From June 1 through June 15, late fees and penalties on all outstanding tickets issued before March of 2017 will be waived.

After that, the parking agency ATL Plus plans to use automatic license plate readers to check the status of parking meters and any possible outstanding vehicle citations.  If your car has fines of more than $100 and three or more outstanding parking tickets, the city says your car will be booted.”There’s really no excuse for not paying, just download the app and use it,” resident Jeremy Gray states.
