The rapper, Kevin Gates, is in the process of seeking to place a restraining order against his parole officer, who is disabling his opportunities from traveling.
Kevin Gates has been out of jail for four months after serving nine months of a 30-month sentence. The rules of his probation has effected him financially due to the limitations on where he is allowed to travel. He is suing the director of the Illinois Department of Corrections and his current parole officer, Ned Swartz for the denial of traveling request.
Many understand that artist make most of their money by touring. With his restrictions he’s had to decline performances at places such as: Rolling Loud in Miami, BET Awards in Los Angeles, and the Common Ground Festival in Michigan. As well, he has minimal time to see his children under the current circumstances of his probation.
Although, he has filed the restraining order, it has yet to move forward in the court room.
