The NAACP has been known to fight for civil rights here in the United Sates since 1909, and their legacy continues into this present day. As you all may know, Colin Kaepernick still hasn’t been able to get picked up by any NFL team since he took a knee during the national anthem; so the NAACP is asking YOU to take a knee…on the NFL.
NAACP Atlanta chapter Vice President Gerald Griggs is leading a boycott not just in Atlanta, but nationwide to shine a light on Colin Kaepernick in hopes of making a statement to the NFL. NAACP is not happy with how Colin Kaepernick has been treated since he take a knee during the national anthem.
“There will be no football in the state of Georgia if Colin Kaepernick is not on a training camp roster and given an opportunity to pursue his career,” said Griggs in a recent interview. “This is not a simple request. This is a statement. This is a demand.and if Mr. Kaepernick is not allowed to pursue his career, then on September the 17th, at 5:00, we are going to have the world’s largest tailgate, and that tailgate will not go into Mercedes-Benz Stadium. We will take a knee, and we will continue to take a knee on the NFL until they act with one voice.”
The NAACP is hosting a rally for Colin Kaepernick on Tomorrow, August 23rd at 6:30pm at Morris Brown College. Their goal is to boycott the NFL and take a stand for what they feel is racial injustice.
