TIDAL AND WEST GOES TOE TO TOE!
Recently, news broke that Kanye West was owed over $3 million by Tidal.
Now, sources close to Kanye West have confirmed that Tidal’s exclusivity rights to his music have been “terminated.” for allegedly failing to “honor its financial obligations.”
West and his team claim he is owed a bonus after his album The Life of Pablo led Tidal to receive 1.5 million new subscribers.
If no new deals are arranged between West and Tidal for future releases, then his albums moving forward will no longer be Tidal exclusives.
Tidal alleges that West never delivered the videos he was legally obligated to by contract.
According to Tidal, West is still bound to this contract. Neither Kanye or JAY-Z have spoken publicly about the dispute, but both sides’ lawyers are preparing for a legal battle.
West allegedly has plans to allow his releases to appear on other streaming platforms moving forward.
