NFL STAR MAKES A HOSPITAL VISIT TO ONE SPECIAL FAN
Cam Newton’s soft spot for kids made an major impact this week. Austin Deckard a 10-year-old boy who suffers from advanced pulmonary hypertension (a rare heart condition that requires a serious medical procedure to save his life) got a surprise earlier this week.
The league’s reigning league MVP and Panther’s quarterback visited Taylor Austin Deckard at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta on Tuesday. One of Deckard’s teachers, Courtney Cooper, started a social media campaign hoping to bring Newton, the boy’s favorite player to come out to see him.
Cooper, “just before Thanksgiving, I was headed to an Auburn football game, Austin was in awe of this.. [and] told me he ‘wished Cam Newton could come to his birthday party.’ Wearing Newton’s No. 2 Auburn when Newton walked in, Newton asked him how he was doing, Taylor climbed out of bed and hugged him. Newton said, “I feel your heart. It’s going 1,000 miles an hour.”
A sweet gesture by Newton for one of his biggest fans. Best wishes to Austin and his family.
