Atlantans are feeling the pinch at the pump as gas Atlantans are feeling the pinch at the pump as gas prices rise while the Iran war continues. The state gas average was $3.41 per gallon this week, 29 cents higher than last week and 69 cents cheaper than this time last month. As a result, drivers in Atlanta are finding different ways to make ends meet. “Gas is very high right now with having an older car and multiple cars, it’s crazy right now you know,” said Atlanta driver SOTA. SOTA is cutting costs by spending more time behind the wheel of his souped-up go-kart, using the kids’ toy with a power-washer engine to get from point A to point B on regular gas. “Good ol regular, 87. Good ol regular gas. It takes about $2 to fill up and I can go ahead and ride all day man. I can pretty much ride wherever I need to ride. Whenever I run out of gas, put another $2 in it and keep on going,” SOTA told Atlanta News First. He’s become somewhat of a local celebrity. You may have even seen some of his videos on social media. But the main thing he’s being called is smart for saving gas. Today we watched him fill up the tank for a whopping $0.36. Even though SOTA’s saving money, he is hoping for prices to come down — many families who can’t afford to get by like he does are really suffering. “I am hoping gas goes down. Summer time is around the corner. I don’t always wanna be in this thing. So, I need them to do something about these gas prices or else,” SOTA concluded. Even though dozens of countries, along with the International Energy Agency, released 400 million barrels of oil, that relief has yet to be felt at the pumps. “Springtime is when you’ve got spring break travelers. You’ve got gasoline demand going up. The weather’s getting nicer, more people want to get out. And also summer blend gasoline will hit the market soon, and that’s a more expensive blend of gasoline,” said AAA spokesperson Aixa Diaz. *Source ANFNEWS @jsmokeatl
