September 2025 — Disney has confirmed that it will increase prices across its streaming services beginning October 21, 2025, affecting Disney+ plans, as well as bundle packages that include Hulu and ESPN.
What’s Changing
-
Disney+ (ad-supported plan) will go up by $2, landing at $11.99/month.
-
Disney+ Premium (no ads) will rise by $3, to $18.99/month. The annual subscription will also see an increase, reaching $189.99/year.
-
Bundle rates will also change:
• The ad-supported Disney+ & Hulu combo moves from $10.99 to $12.99/month.
• The premium Disney+, Hulu & ESPN bundle climbs from $26.99 to $29.99/month.
Disney has already started notifying subscribers about the upcoming changes.
Why the Increase?
This marks the fourth consecutive year Disney has pushed pricing higher in October. The moves coincide with Disney’s efforts to keep its direct-to-consumer segment financially strong, despite growing costs for content creation and stiff competition from other streaming platforms.
Disney also recently launched a new ESPN streaming service, giving users access to live sports, ESPN networks, and additional content — a factor contributing to the shifting pricing strategy.
Industry Context
Streaming services continue to evolve. As more platforms invest heavily in original productions, the pressure to maintain profitability grows. Price adjustments like Disney’s are becoming more common across the media landscape.
