Fanfest at WML

Follywood Fan Fest is coming to Westside Motor Lounge in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Kicking off pre-game activities during college football’s opening weekend, sports enthusiasts from near and far are invited to a high-energy event featuring food, drinks, live music, special guests, and performances. NASCAR Night at the Atlanta Braves

The Battery Atlanta will be an ode to NASCAR for fans to enjoy pregame. Battery Avenue will be lined with a dozen pace and show cars, from Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, and more. Fans will be able to take photos with the cars as well as some of the sport’s most coveted trophies. NASCAR Night will feature photo opportunities, interactive stations, and special appearances by some fan-favorite NASCAR drivers. NASCAR drivers will be integrated into the pregame ceremony with the celebratory First Pitch, ‘Play Ball,’ and more.

Doc Holliday Festival

The Doc Holliday Festival and BBQ Competition is held in Griffin City Park annually the weekend following Labor Day, promising a day of entertainment for the whole family. One of the highlights is the re-enactment group Aces and Eights, who will be performing three shows in the park depicting the famous shootout at the OK Corral.

Runningman, an immersive health and wellness festival is coming back to Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia, September 13-15. Jimmy Carter’s 100th Birthday Celebration

The Carter Center is excited to announce “Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song,” a musical event celebrating the centennial birthday of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. The landmark concert, taking place Sept. 17, 2024, at Atlanta’s historic Fox Theatre, will feature world-renowned artists performing live tributes and special guests celebrating President Carter’s legacy of service to humanity. Tickets are $100 — in honor of Carter’s 100th birthday — and are available to the public at FoxTheatre.org/JimmyCarter100 starting at 10 a.m. Aug. 5.

In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Piedmont Park Conservancy and the 120th birthday of Piedmont Park, the Conservancy invites Atlantans to rewind the clock and “Party Like It’s 1989″ at Party for Piedmont Park on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. This milestone event, held at Greystone, the Park’s historic bathhouse, honors Piedmont Park’s rich history while reaffirming its commitment to the Park’s present and future. All proceeds will support the Piedmont Park Conservancy and its ongoing work to maintain and enhance Atlanta’s iconic, green heart. Guests are encouraged to bring family and friends for a nostalgic evening featuring 1989-themed fun with food, drinks and live music.
