Tory Lanez announced on Monday (May 4) that he is launching the Tory Lanez Dream City Fund to benefit COVID-19 relief efforts. The fund is a collaboration between The Dream City Project, which he founded with his father in 2012 to help inspire and mentor youth, and the Dream Center, a Los Angeles-based charity.

Money raised will provide meals and diapers for underserved families in Los Angeles and other communities nationwide.  Tory kicked off the efforts by pledging to cover the cost of the first 50,000 diapers,  Amazon Music promised to match the costs.

Tory spoke to CNN from Los Angeles last week, about the importance of using his platform to give back to the community. He said:

“It is very important that any artist give back because at some point you were also regular. At some point, you were a normal person like everyone else. I always tell artists that people feel exactly how you felt when you were in that place “.
