Lizzo is 100% that Bonnaroo main chick as she makes history as the first female headliner ever. The 2020 Bonnaroo Festival lineup incorporates Lizzo playing the Saturday late evening headling slot. The “Truth Hurts” vocalist is the first lady to headline the celebration since it began in 2002, as per Billboard.
This comes a year after fans were baffled that Cardi B wasn’t given main event status at 2019 Bonnaroo. In previous years, large festivals like Coachella have been criticized for their absence of female headline, however female artists altogether. Beyoncè turned into the first black woman to headline Coachella in 2018. A year ago, Ariana Grande turned out to be just the fourth independent female artist to headline Coachella in its about 20-year history.
Different main events for the celebration occurring June 11-14 in Manchester, Tennessee incorporate Tool and Tame Impala. The current year’s celebration incorporates pop acts including Miley Cyrus, The 1975, Lana Del Rey, and Nelly playing his 2000 record Country Grammer.
Tickets go on sale Thursday, Jan. 9 around early afternoon EST.
