The Miami Heat have suspended shooting guard Dion Waiters for six games for posting a picture of himself on a boat on Instagram after calling out “sick”. Waiters has allegedly committed “more than a half dozen team violations” this season. Those violations include refusing to participate in team weigh-ins and also angrily ranting about his coach, Erik Spoelstra, on social media.
The organization officially suspended Waiters for “failure to adhere to team policies, violation of team rules and continued insubordination” The 28-year-old was also chastised by the team and suspended for 10 games for eating a THC gummy on the team plane, which was made known after he suffered from a panic attack because of the edible.
The Miami Heat are interested in getting waiters off of the team.
