Have you heard of the split between Gabriella Union and AGT?
Allegedly the network decided not to renew Union’s contract this past weekend. According to reporter LoveBScott, the television star is fired due to her speaking up about situations regarding racism and sexism.
A source from NBC spoke out about letting go the #1 talent on network TV for 2019, stating Mrs.Union-Wade “would not walk away from $12 million because she’s ‘busy.'”
Julianne Hough was also let go from the program along with Union. Sources have stated that Hough’s firing has something to do with the judge’s popularity. However, both Hough and Union have received more interactions than male co-judges Howie Mandel and Simon.
America’s Got Talent has seen to have problems with firing hosts due to wrong reasons before. This experience with Gabriella Union matches up well with Nick Cannon back in 2017. Cannon went to Facebook to announce that AGT threatened him with termination by executives after making a racial joke about NBC, forcing him to quit in 2017.
As of now, Gabriella Union has not publicly responded to her departure from the show.
