Marijuana is currently legal in 11 states and there are 33 states that permit the plant for medical purposes. The increase of the plant’s legalization has prompted a need for jobs in the cannabis trade.
The legal cannabis industry sales in 2017 stood somewhere between $8.2 billion and $8.8 billion and the figures are expected to surge to roughly $35 billion by 2022.
Ivy League schools are now offering course listings that include classes surrounding the production and cultivation of marijuana. In addition to the production and cultivation of marijuana, there are courses available that teach the logistics of legal processes and social issues surrounding cannabis as well.
It is expected that these courses will be introduced to colleges around the States, as the urge for more education in the cannabis industry increases.
