The highest of highs to the lowest of lows all in the matter of one night.
Corey Ballentine worked very hard on and off the field to make it to the position he is in now. Even with him being at a low-profile Division 2 school he still persevered. Much like he will due to the recent tragedy that occurred just hours after being drafted in the 6th round of the NFL Draft.
New York Giants draft pick Corey Ballentine was shot on the night he was drafted in an off-campus shooting alongside a teammate of his. Luckily he is expected to make a full recovery, but tragically his teammate passed away in the shooting.
It’s all a crazy dream until you do it. I can’t even explain the emotions I have right now. S/o the people that told me to pick a more realistic career. This is as real as it gets. Thank you to the Giants organization for believing in me. It’s only up from here. #GiantsPride pic.twitter.com/86EiwIP4fM
