2 Chainz loyalty runs deep! Yesterday 2 Chainz debuted the first episode of his new YouTube series named “#CrateTalk”. His first special guest was Steve Stoute and during the episode 2 Chainz explained an encounter he had with Jay-Z. He said that Jay-Z offered to fly him out for a meeting but due to his loyalty to someone in Atlanta by the name of DJ Teknikz who had been there for him since the very beginning. His explained how DJ Teknikz helped him get his foot in the door of the industry and believed in him very early on. Once DJ Teknikz began working together the started to gain popularity and following around the country. Back in the era of the Kanye and Jay-Z collaboration, 2 Chainz spoke with Kanye West and began to build a relationship. Ultimately putting 2 Chainz in the path of Jay-Z who offered to fly him out for a meeting to discuss doing business together.
“So after Kanye called everyday, I got a call from Hov,” he explained to Stoute. “And Hov was like, ‘I want you to come to New York, I heard you making a lot of noise.’ And the only reason that I did not go was because I said, ‘Can I bring my buddy Tek with me?’ He was like, ‘Why you wanna bring your DJ for?’ But I’m trying to tell them that bruh helped me get to the point where I’m on your radar, you know what I’m saying? I couldn’t go by myself. I just chose loyalty.”
