Jussie Smollett Attack Reportedly “Staged” So He Could Keep His Job

Variety reporting that Chicago media outlets began saying that the attack on Jussie Smollett was staged. Smollett allegedly had this done because his character was being written out of Empire and he wanted to keep his job. Fox has denied that Jussie was being removed from the show, stating. “The idea that Jussie Smollett has been, or would be, written off of ‘Empire’ is patently ridiculous. He remains a core player on this very successful series and we continue to stand behind him.”
