CLEVELAND CAVALIERS GUARD TURNS HIMSELF IN TO NYPD

JR Smith, Cleveland Cavaliers guard, has reportedly surrendered to the New York City Police Department for an incident involving a cell phone and a fan of his. Smith was charged with a misdemeanor of criminal wrongdoing for allegedly throwing a mobile phone he stole from a fan near The Park, a high-end restaurant, and club in the Chelsea neighborhood.

Smith was being investigated for the July 29th incident in which he was accused of stealing the mobile phone. The fan states that he was only trying to get a picture with the Cavaliers star when it was snatched from him and thrown into a construction site. “This is nonsense, and we are not responding to nonsense,” Smith’s attorney, Alex Spiro, says on his behalf. JR arrived at the station and was summoned to appear in court on a later date.
