It has been reported that the internet music streaming service, TIDAL, has been accused of “deliberately faking” streaming numbers for A-list artist such as: Beyonce and Kanye West.
The accusations arose when a Norwegian publication stated that TIDAL were manipulating numbers to acquire more royalty shares. Ever since the release of Kanye West’s nontraditional album, The Life of Pablo and its platinum certification, there has been many suspicions.
TIDAL since then has released a response to the allegations claiming it to be “ridiculous”. They went on too add, “This is a smear campaign from a publication that once referred to our employee as an ‘Israeli Intelligence office’ and our owner as a ‘crack dealer.’ We expect nothing less from them than this ridiculous story, lies, and falsehoods. the information was stolen and manipulated and we will fight these claim vigorously.”
