The Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign was designed to raise awareness about HIV and its impact on the lives of all Americans. More than 1.1 million people are living with HIV in the U.S. The Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign is a reminders that HIV does not discriminate across race, gender, or age.

We can stop HIV Together—by Getting the Facts. Getting Tested. and Getting involved.

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency infection. It weakens the immune system  by annihilating critical cells that battle sickness and disease. No successful cure exists for HIV. In any case, with legitimate medicinal care, HIV can be controlled. In the United States people are more likely to get HIV than others as a result of numerous variables, including their sex accomplices, their hazard practices, and where they live.

The only way to know for sure whether you have HIV is to get tested. CDC recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care. Knowing your HIV status gives you powerful information to help you take steps to keep you and your partner healthy. This section answers some of the most common questions related to HIV testing, including the types of tests available, where to get one, and what to expect when you get tested.
