JAY-Z A STATUE!
JAY-Z is having the most stellar 2017’s as the veteran rapper shook up the business with the arrival of his 4:44 collection, enlistment into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the introduction of his twins, Rumi and Sir Carter. The rap big shot has now been chosen to get the 2018 Grammy Salute to Industry Icons Award at the Pre-Grammy Gala. Hov will be given the respect by Clive Davis at the Sheraton New York Times Square on Jan. 27th; the night prior to the 60th yearly Grammy Awards.
In a public statement issued today (Tuesday, Oct. 31), Recording Academy supervisor Neil Portnow said that Jay speaks to “the soul of New York City” with his business mindstate and a profession that knows no restrictions.
“We are totally excited and pleased to respect JAY-Z with the current year’s GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons Award,” Portnow said. “His commitments as an industry pioneer and music visionary just start to address the colossal effect he’s made both in excitement and past.”
Clive Davis reflected these slants expressing, “JAY-Z is a quintessential symbol and I couldn’t be more joyful and more eager to impart the night to him. What a night this will be!”
