400 INJURED, 50 DEAD Sunday night, 64 year old Stephen Paddock shot up the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, causing the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
There are a reported 50 dead and more than 400 were sent to hospitals injured from the shooting.
One witness, Meghan Kearney, told MSNBC, “We heard what sounded like firecrackers going off. Then all of a sudden we heard what sounded like a machine gun. People started screaming that they were hit… When we started running out, there were probably a couple hundred [people] on the ground.”
Although Paddock is dead, having shot himself as police entered the room that he was in, his roommate, Marilou Danley was being investigated as a person of interest. Police have contacted Danley, and have decided that she is not believed to be involved in the shooting.
Two on-duty Las Vegas officers were injured during the shooting, and two off-duty police officers that were attending the concert were killed.
President Trump tweeted his condolences to the victims of the Las Vegas massacre.
Paddock attacked the concert from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
