A short time ago, Jerry Rice sent social media into an uproar when he tweeted that “All Lives Matter” back in August. The comment upset those that think that All Lives Matter is attempting to overshadow the Black Lives Matter movement. He recently tweeted an apology and explained that he was not aware of the Black Lives Matter movement when he posted the tweet.
Rice has been under fire lately for his comments on Twitter. He tweeted that he supported Colin Kaepernick’s efforts to address the racism that is deeply rooted in American culture, but he did not think protesting during the national anthem was the right way to do so. Rice deleted the tweet after being criticized for his comments.
Twitter had a mixed response to his apology. Some appreciated that Rice was trying make amends, while others felt like he was taking sides on the matter. What do you guys think?
