LOOKS LIKE DWAYNE WALKER LOST THIS BATTLE. FIND OUT MORE HERE
Dwayne Walker, a clothing designer, claimed that he created the Roc-A-Fella logo back in 1995 and therefore deserved his royalties that were owed to him. Because of this, Walker sued Jay-Z, Damon Dash, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke for $7 million for copyright infringement back in 2012. Yesterday However, the District Court Judge dismissed the lawsuit. One of the reasons that the case was dismissed was because Walker was asked to provide a copy of a contract that he claimed he had with Damon Dash. However, he was unable to provide it. Jay-Z also claimed that Walker didn’t create the logo and that it was actually Adrien Vargas that created it. “This leaves only plaintiff’s own self-serving testimony that he drafted the contract, that he and Dash signed it, and that he lost track of it in 1998,” wrote the judge. “This testimony alone is not enough.”
